Sunday in Kissimmee - March 9/14

Went to Celebration for church this morning, met our friends Peter and Marilyn, as well as her sister Doreen and Peter, went out for lunch after together.  Had a great visit with them all!  It was so nice out that we couldn't stay inside, so went for a bike ride.  I wanted to see if the sandhill crane eggs had hatched.

I was thrilled to be greeted with this sight, but knew there had been TWO eggs, couldn't help but wonder about the other one.

Mom appeared to be pulling something out of the ground to feed the little one.

Junior followed Dad into the marsh.

He got out of Mom's sight for awhile, and I think she was anxious.

Alas, one egg is still in the nest.  But it appears to have some holes pecked in it, so I'm hopeful.  Now we have to go back again to check it out!

Donald and Daisy got a little too close to the baby for comfort and got chased by Dad.  Daisy seems to be having a bath here.

What do you think these are?  Frogs eggs maybe?

Some American Coots.

And here's a Canadian "coot" snatching a few zzzz's.

As Paul was relaxing, he looked up under the roof of the deck and saw this fellow.  We think he was starting to change colour, because his tail was brown.

2 Lions guard the bridge to Star Island, which is where the cranes are.

Did I mention that there is another one of those ice cream places close to where we are now as well?

These corrugated bushes are pretty by themselves, but add these beautiful berries, and they are even better!
