Today, we went to Downtown Disney, parked the van, and biked to and through some of the Disney Resorts - a very beautiful, well-maintained area. It started out cool this morning, but ended up to be the best day possible!
We've never entered the Downtown Disney area from the south end, so had never seen these sculpted trees.
As always, lots of lovely flowers. I thought these were pretty unusual - have no idea what they are.
I think this might be a "red-bud" tree, but not sure.
Again, I don't know what this tree is, but it just looked so nice against the blue sky.
Guess this Limpkin had an itch.
Downtown Disney from across the lake.
This American Coot was having a bath - splashing up a storm!
There were 4 osprey flying around over the lake watching for lunch.
This one thought he had a fish, but came out empty- handed.
Sorry this isn't very clear, but I couldn't resist putting it in, since the anhinga was in the picture too. Some people call the anhinga a "snake-bird", since it always swims with it's whole body under water.
These boats went all around the waterways between the resorts and Downtown Disney all day every day.
One of the resorts we biked to was Old Key West. Jeff and Kerry, do you remember being there last year with our bikes?
One large sand castle!
One of the "tree-houses" in another resort.
After lots of biking, we thought we'd wander around Downtown Disney, but there were so many people, we gave it up.
This is another sculpture we had never seen before - at the absolute north end - right by the Christmas store.
