This is today's blog - I just haven't had time to do one for yesterday - so many pictures! We have spent most of today outside. This morning, we went for a bike ride to see if the second egg had hatched - it hadn't. :-( But we did see the parents and the one youngster. Came back for lunch (free) by the pool, a swim, and then headed out for what will probably be our last bike ride in Celebration for this year. What a gorgeous day it has been! It was a LOT of pedalling for one day!
The old birds were doing a lot of trumpeting today. It didn't seem to be us they were concerned about. If we got too close, they just hissed at us.
Junior was trying out his wings a bit.
Notice that his knees bend backwards, and see how big his feet are - I guess for walking on the water plants. But they seemed to be tripping him up a bit. Here, he was just resting on hi haunches.
Sticking pretty close to Mom.
They really don't seem to mind people, as long as they don't get too close to baby.
One of the paths we biked on today. See the alligator at the edge of the water about half way up?
He didn't seem to mind that I got pretty close for a picture, and never stirred as we biked by. Even though we saw 100's of alligators yesterday, it's still a thrill to see one in the wild.
It smelled so good in the woods today! The wild orange trees have blossoms on them now. It never ceases to amaze me that oranges and blossoms are on the trees at the same time!
Water iris - so pretty!
I don't know what these trees are called, but they have such beautiful yellow flowers on them right now (later than usual), and there are a lot in Celebration.
